Rocky Mountain and Borah have been there before. Borah in fact is the defending 5A Idaho State boys basketball champion while Rocky Mountain leads the current 2020 standings at 13-0 in SIC play, 15-1 overall.

Meridian on the other hand is trying to break the Grizzly, Lion stronghold on the 5A basketball court with an impressive 13-2 overall record, 10-2 in the SIC.

Ironically the the same record as Borah and even more ironic, the two collide Friday night at Meridian in the McDonald's game of the week 7:30 pm start on 105.5fm The Fan Boise.

Granted the entire regular season of basketball is played for seeding in the districts as all teams try and qualify for the state tournament but sometimes a regular season game can send a message and that's what the Warriors hope to do Friday.

Here are the current SIC Standings and you can see the importance of Friday's showdown: Rocky Mountain 13-0, Borah 10-2, Meridian 10-2, Eagle 8-5, Boise 7-6, Centennial 6-7, Timberline 5-8, Skyview 2-11, Mountain View 2-11 and Capital 1-12.

Over the weekend Rocky Mountain beat Boise 71-58, Borah topped Eagle 61-47 and Meridian outlasted Timberline 63-57.
