You just know the schedule got tougher when your head coach says the 2017 season schedule may be as challenging as there is in the entire NAIA.

Words from the mouth of College of Idaho football coach Mike Moroski as he announced the Yotes will play a Division I opponent by traveling to Northern Colorado of the Big Sky conference on September 2nd.

The Coyotes did play the likes of Idaho and Washington State back in the 1920's and 30's but that was before the current Division I structure was adopted in 1973 so this is a school first!

It's a huge game on the Coyote schedule and already underlined by players and coaches as a real test of where they are as a team.

The 2017 schedule will also include five home games at Simplot stadium including a September 16th showdown with Eastern Oregon, a national semi finalist in 2016.

The 11 game 2017 schedule begins August 26th at Montana Western, then the trip to Greely to face Northern Colorado and then the first home game of the year September 9th against Southern Oregon.
