It was a great night for the Boise Hawks as they beat Eugene 3-0 Tuesday in Eugene snapping a 7 game losing skid and moving into first place in the South Division of the Northwest League.

To be honest, ending their seven game skid is the big news because moving into first place is just an oddity of the NW League dividing it's season into half's.

The first half ended Monday with Boise finishing last and Salem-Keizer taking the title.

With their win last night the Hawks start the second half of the season 1-0 and automatically move to the lead. The challenge now is to stay there!

The Hawks won last night in part to a rare inside the park homer by Bladimir Restituyo. He poked a liner to right-center field that went all; the way to the wall and he was able to slide safely into home giving Boise a 2-0 lead.

The Hawks and Emeralds play again tonight and tomorrow in Eugene and return home Friday to host the Hillsboro Hops..
