There is plenty of college football to keep Gem State football fans busy this week.

The Idaho Vandals are home to Cal-Poly, Idaho State also has a Big Sky home game against Northern Colorado while Boise State is on the road at San Jose State and The College of Idaho will be in La Grande to take on Eastern Oregon.

Boise State takes it's 6-1 to San Jose against a Spartan team that is 4-4 with wins at Arkansas and Army. San Jose's 4-wins are double what they had in 2018 and 2018 combined and the Spartans are talking bowl bid and upset bid over Boise State.

San Jose State is 0-13 lifetime against the Broncos who are favored by 17 but this San Jose State team doesn't seem to care. They are beginning to believe and that could spell a long hard night for the Broncos.

Boise State by the way got some help in their quest for a New years six bowl when Georgia Southern beat Appalachian State 24-21 last night. App-State, like BSU a Group of 5 team, was ranked 20th in the AP poll, one spot ahead of Boise State.

SMU is also ahead of the Broncos in the polls but plays at Memphis Saturday and a Memphis win puts the Broncos right back in the Cotton Bowl picture so long as they win.

The Idaho Vandals are also coming off a bye week as they host Big Sky foe Cal-Poly. The Mustangs run an option offense which Idaho has had two weeks to prepare for. The Vandals are coming off a win over Idaho State looking to string back to back league victories

Cal-Poly at Idaho 3pm kickoff on The Fan, 105.5 fm and 630 am.

The Idaho State Bengals started the year strong but no seem o be struggling.at least on the road where they haven't won a game this year. Good news is, the Bengals host Northern Colorado, 2:30 pm kickoff in Holt Arena where they should be able to pick up another conference victory.

The College of Idaho takes it's 7-0 record and No.7 NAIA ranking into La Grande for a showdown with Eastern Oregon. The Yotes are riding a 13 game win streak!
