The Associated Press Media poll released this week has Boise State football ranked 33rd. The USA Today Coaches poll released a couple of weeks ago placed the Broncos 27th so it's obvious the pollsters are going to make the broncos work for their Top 25 ranking this season.

Ironically, Florida State is not ranked as well so that means a battle of un-ranked opponents August 31st in Jacksonville and who would have thought it?

Probably the biggest issue the pollsters have with Boise State is at quarterback. Following four years of Brett Rypien the Broncos are in decision making mode, Chase Cord or true freshman Hank Bachmeier seem to be the logical choices.

Either way, heading into the season with a new signal caller has the pollsters on alert.

Since 2002 Boise State has been ranked in the Top 25 at some point in every season and there is no reason to think 2019 will be any different.

In fact, overall the Broncos seem as strong as ever and their depth is better than ever.

Boise State continues to be the top ranked team from the Mountain West. Fresno State and Utah State also received votes in the AP Media poll but are 37th and 38th respectively.

For the record, Clemson is no.1 followed by Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State.

Oregon is the top ranked Pac 12 team at no.11, Washington is 13, Utah 14th, Washington State 23rd and Stanford 25th.
