When most people talk about Boise State football they mention trick plays, the Broncos win over Oklahoma, the Blue field but not necessarily running backs.

Maybe they should what with the success of Doug Martin, Jay Ajayi and maybe the addition of Jeremy McNichols to the NFL ranks.

McNichols would make it three straight Boise State running backs drafted into the NFL. Martin and Ajayi have both proved they can carry the load in the NFL and that may well pave the way for McNichols.

The Weapon as he is called has the endorsement from Ajayi and with BSU's building reputation for producing running backs NFL scouts are listening and focusing on Bronco products.

With an abundance of ball carriers in the 2017 draft McNichols isn't expected to hear his name called until the 4th round where he might go to New England.

One thing is for sure, as Boise State continues to pump out quality running backs the NFL spotlight will certainly continue to shine on future BSU backs.

Boise State might not be a running back factory but has certainly become a successful small business running on all cylinders.
