The Boise Brave girls basketball team is number one in the first media poll of the season but that lofty ranking might not be long lived.

Just as the votes were counted, Boise dropped a 48-32 decision to Timberline who comes up third in the first poll of the season.

Boise sits at 8-2 with the loss to T-Line while the Lady Timber-wolves are 7-1.

Mountain View 7-2 is second while Coeur d'Alene 7-0 and Lake City 5-2 complete the top five.

The first boys high school basketball media poll is expected next week. As it stands going into tonight's action there are three unbeaten 5A SIC teams led by the 5-0 Borah Lions.

Borah was featured as the McDonald's game of the week last Friday, beating Madison in a rematch of last years state 5A title game. Austin Bolt had 34 points for the Lions.

Tonight Borah is at 3-0 Eagle while Centennial is the third unbeaten team at 2-0.

Another big game tonight is Rocky Mountain at Boise, both teams 4-1.

Sports radio "The Fan" will feature a special Thursday edition of the McDonald's game of the week with Skyview at Mountain View. Both teams are struggling to start the season, the Mavericks are 1-4 and the Hawks 0-4 so something ill have to give tonight. Tip off at 7:30 pm on 105.5fm and 630am The Fan. Or you can catch the game on the 630 The Fan app available for free download in the app store.
