Broncos Tame Rebels-Jessup Sets The Record

Justinian Jessup needed just one three point bucket to break the Boise State school record for made three point shots....he swished 5 enroute to 18 total points as Boise State beat UNLV 73-66 in Mountain West basketball action Wednesday night.

Jessup, who entered the game tied with Anthony Drmic at 275 career three pointers, set the record with a buzzer beating three pointer at the half. He then canned 4 more in the seconds half and was 5 of 6 from three point range for a career total of 280.

Jessup is now just 16 three point shots from the all time league record held by Jimmer Fredette of BYU.

Jessup wasn't the only reason Boise State was able to hand UNLV it's first conference loss of the season, he had held from Derrick Alston who scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. J.R. Williams also posted a double double with 11 points and 10 boards.

The Broncos are now  8-1 at home home, 11-6 overall and 3-2 in league.

Next up is a huge challenge as BSU travels to San Diego to face the 7th ranked and 16-0 Aztecs of San Diego State who improved to 5-0 in league Wednesday with a 72-52 win at Wyoming.

In other Mountain West basketball news San Jose State beat Nevada 70-68. The Spartans, vastly improved from a year ago also own a win over New Mexico.
