BSU Football Fan Experience Detailed

If you are looking for a new fan experience at Boise State football this fall the Bronco athletic department feels they've come up with a plan and they made that plan know today in a press release.

According to the release the BSU Athletic Department has worked to improve the fan experience from the day the 2016 season ended. Boise State athletic director Curt Apsey claiming BSU fans are the lifeblood of the program.

The following are the details of the 8 months of work put into the Fan Experience which will start Saturday September 2 when Troy of the Sun Belt Conference comes to Albertson's stadium.

In-game Features

From the second the Broncos take the field until the final second runs off the clock, fans will notice a difference. Highlighted by additional pyrotechnics that will be unveiled for week one, the Broncos’ pregame introductions have undergone a major overhaul. In addition to being led onto the field by a student-athlete selected weekly to carry The Hammer, Boise State will also be led by a new Bronco Girl, Brianna Flansburg, and her horse, Cassie. The team will also introduce the Bleed Blue Flag, carried by the individual that best represents the ideals of the program on a weekly basis.

Fireworks are no longer a pregame-only function, rather they will accompany every Bronco touchdown.

The video board will feature more replays with better angles, additional statistics and real-time highlight packages.

Boise State is also pleased to introduce an in-stadium DJ, a position that will be filled by former Bronco standout and current recording artist Faraji Wright, known in the music industry as Rexx Life Raj. He will take over the audio system inside Albertsons Stadium during pregame for every home contest this year, and provide music during key moments throughout the game.

Concessions

Albertsons Stadium concessions and catering is unveiling exciting new features this season. Concessions will introduce new vendors such as Mad Mac, Mai Thai hand-rolled sushi, Kono Pizza, Famous Dave’s BBQ and Soda Stop. A handful of concessions favorites, including Ben & Jerry’s, Sweet Valley Cookies, Mai Thai rice bowls, La Tapatia Street Tacos and Famous Dave’s BBQ, will be adding locations throughout the concourse. Concessions will also add a Walking Taco Loaded Nachos kiosk, as well as expanded menus with items such as finger steaks, Frank’s Hot Sauce wings and Hammer Fries, a new signature dish.

Catering menus in the Stueckle Sky Center will highlight the talent of new executive chef Nathan Child by adding some of his signature dishes, including two Bronco Dogs (Reuben or Brisket) and Huckleberry Cheesecake. New buffet menus, campus menus and black-tie menus will also be showcased this season, while the fourth floor will host a local restaurant showcase each game. To top off the exciting new food menus, the Stueckle Sky Center will feature one local beer and wine for each game.

Kick Times

While start times for Boise State football games are in the hands of the Mountain West’s national television partners, we have worked closely with both the league office and ESPN to bring earlier kick times to Albertsons Stadium. The result – three-consecutive games to start the season at 6 p.m. or earlier, including the first day game in nearly four years. Boise State hasn’t hosted three-straight at 6 p.m. or earlier to start a season since 2011, the Broncos’ first year in the Mountain West.

Pregame Festivities

For the season opener against Troy, the Bronco Walk will add a new feature. Student-athletes and coaches will follow Bronco Circle to the Allen Noble Hall of Fame, where 101 blue and orange flowers will be dropped at the base of the statue of Lyle Smith. The former Boise State head coach and athletic director passed away this past month at the age of 101. Fans who want to be part of the celebration of Coach Smith are encouraged to be at the plaza by 11:15 a.m.

The TAILGATE ZONE ON BRONCO CIRCLE is an additional pregame feature, with reserved tented tailgate locations on the grass of DeChevrieux Field, just steps away from the entrance to Albertsons Stadium. Uniforms/Merchandise

Boise State unveiled its NEW UNIFORMS for 2017 earlier this summer, and in addition to being officially debuted in the season opener against Troy, fans will have an opportunity to purchase them – and all other Bronco merchandise – at a discounted rate throughout the season. The Bronco Shop is launching Gear Up Monday for 2017, an opportunity for fans to take 25 percent off of all regular-priced merchandise every Monday before a home game.
