Why is it you never hear a college football coach say they could have done better on football letter of intent signing day?

Because it's always about the potential and it seems all four major Idaho football schools landed enough potential for plenty of optimism.

Boise State landed 18 total players, a 2019 recruiting class called tops in the Mountain West, best among the Group of 5 and 46th overall in the nation according to 247sports.com.

Boise State's 2019 recruiting list includes one Gem State player, Keegan Duncan a running back from Declo.

The Idaho Vandals signed 10 new players Wednesday to go with the 14 they inked on the early singing date back in December. Vandal head coach Paul Petrino said if this is not the best recruiting class in Idaho football history it's certainly ranks right up there. 247sports.com rating the Vandal 2019 recruiting class the best of the Big Sky.

Idaho signed two local Idaho High School standouts in running back Nick Romano from Rocky Mountain and wide receiver Nehemiah Parker out of Mountain Home.

The Idaho State Bengals signed 24 players in all, among them tight end Jackson Lightner from Bishop Kelly. Of the 24 ISU recruits 13 are defensive players.

The College of Idaho loaded up on local talent signing 40 players in all with 31 of those players from the Gem State. Head coach Mike Moroski said 20 of the players are on defense, 18 on offense and 2 specialists.

“We are extremely excited about this recruiting class,” Moroski said. “It is the best recruiting class we have had here at the C of I.”

A few key Idaho players are linebacker Dylan Martinez from Mountain View, QB Ryan Hibbs from Capital, defensive back Kaimana Nawahine of Rocky Mountain and running back Ed Osterberger of Timberline..

All four school claiming victory in the recruiting wears and could bode well for football fans across the state.
