Boise States basketball season came to an end Wednesday in Seattle with a 77-74 loss to Washington in the first round of the NIT.

It was a disappointing one and out for the Broncos in march, first at the Mountain West tournament and now in the NIT. The season ends at 23-9.

The one shining moment for BSU however was the play in Seattle of Chandler Hutchison. It was obvious he didn't want his Boise State career to come to an end as he scored his 12th double double of the season (23rd career DD) with 39 points and 14 rebounds.

Hutchison's 39 points were the most ever by a Bronco player in post season play as were his 14 rebounds and 14 made free throws

Led by Hutchison the Broncos were outstanding in the third quarter erasing a 17 point deficit with a 16-3 run.

Boise State had a chance to tie with three seconds to play and down 77-74 but unlike in Eugene where Lexus Williams beat Oregon with a buzzer beating three pointer, his tying 3 point shot was blocked at first and his follow up three rimmed out.

The 9 losses ties for the fewest losses in the Leon Rice era when the 2014-15 team went 25-9.

Rice is now 3-5 in post season play in 8-years as the Broncos head coach... .
