Apparently it's always recruiting season in NAIA and College of Idaho football coach Mike Moroski has announced the signing of 12 additional student-athletes to Frontier Conference Letters of Intent for the 2019 season – pushing the number of incoming recruits to 52.

The 12 true freshmen are evenly split between offensive and defensive players, with four of the players hailing from the Gem State.

Matthew Klassen of Aberdeen High and Blake Jablonski of Mountain View High look to add depth to the Coyote receiving group. Klassen (6-1, 175) played quarterback at AHS, rushing for 1,347 yards and 20 touchdowns, earning Idaho State Journal All-Area Team honors, while Jablonski (5-8, 155) caught 41 passes for 825 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning All-Southern Idaho Conference accolades.

On the defensive side, end Cy Mahlke of Twin Falls High and linebacker Andrew Bergey of Boise High are headed to Caldwell. Mahlke (6-3, 195) is a two-time All-Great Basin Conference pick, while Bergey is a two-time All-SIC selection.

Quarterback Jacob Holcomb headlines the out-of-state offensive players, as the 6-foot-1, 195-pound signal-caller was the Washington Gatorade Player of the Year, leading Puyallup High to the 4A state semifinals. Holcomb, the younger brother of current C of I quarterback, Nathaniel Holcomb, was a 4A All-State selection and The News Tribune All-Area Player of the Year after going 210-of-307 for 3,148 yards and 45 touchdowns, while adding 765 rushing yards.

Receiver Jacob Nadley (6-1, 180) of Pacific Palisades High in California was a stellar 2-way player – catching 38 passes for 600 yards and six scores, while adding five interceptions – earning All-Western League honors.

Three members of the California Division 2AA State Championship Grace Brethren High squad head to C of I – linemen Avery Cook (6-4, 250) and Garrett Klock (6-2, 265), along with safety Troy Hothan (5-9, 180). Cook and Klock were anchors on one of the top prep offensive lines in California, while Hothan had 85 tackles and 11 interceptions as a senior – with all three players earning All-Camino League honors.

Two additional players from Washington make the trip to C of I – linebacker Kainoa China of Bothell High and safety Dorian Hardin of Oak Harbor High. China (5-11, 200) had 56 tackles and two sacks as a senior, earning All-KingCo honors, while Hardin – the younger brother of current Coyote corner, Taeson Hardin – was a stellar two-way player, rushing for 1,053 yards and 13 touchdowns, recording four interceptions on defense, while averaging 29 yards a kick return.

Kiran Jain of Quartz Hill High in California rounds out the latest group of recruits. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound defensive end earned All-Golden League honors as a senior after recording 39 tackles and nine sacks.
