Led by a pair of former Treasure Valley high school standouts the College of Idaho men's basketball team has advanced to the 2nd round of the NAIA Division II national tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Coyotes beat Mayville State 66-50 behind 14 points from Nate Bruneel who played at Rocky Mountain High and 13 from Talon Pinckney who played at both Capital and Centennial.

The College of Idaho went on a 19-4 run to start the second half and never looked back as they improved to 28-6 on the year.

Next up for the Yotes is #5 seed Dakota Wesleyan tonight (3/9) at 6:30 p.m. MST.

This is the third time the two teams have met in the national tournament each with a win.
