Anyone who has been around the affable Doug Martin was taken back last year when the former Boise State running back now with the Tampa bat Buccaneers was suspend four games for violating the NFL Drug policy.

Martin went into rehab and this week met with the media for the first time since his suspension. Martin said it was a journey of self development, he talked about turning a negative into a positive and how is definitely a strong person.

Martin, a two time pro bowl running back missed one game last year and will sit out the first three this season.

Martin said it was hard to be away from, his family and support system but thanked his teammates for all the support they showed him.

rumors were flying that Tampa Bay might let Martin go but GM Jason Licht said the team was more than pleased with the progress Martin was making and impressed by his attitude.
