The Drake Bulldogs beat Boise State 83-74 in the Missouri Valley Challenge played in Des Moines.

After trailing for all of the second half, Boise State was able to cut the deficit to three points with 3:36 to play, but Drake was able to keep its lead down the stretch to claim the 83-74 win in the 2018 Mountain West / Missouri Valley Challenge.

Justinian Jessup was the top scorer for the Broncos with a season-high 21 points. The junior also tallied team highs in minutes (38) and assists (3). Jessup has scored 15 or more points in three of his last four games.

Marcus Dickinson recorded a season-high 14 points in 30 minutes of play. Pat Dembley also reached double-digit points, ending the night with 10.

RJ Williams was the top rebounder for the Broncos, pulling in nine to tie a season high.

Boise State dealt with considerable foul trouble throughout the second half as Williams picked up his fourth foul at the 16:46 mark while Zach Haney picked up his fourth at the 12:39 mark. David Wacker earned his fourth foul with 6:41 to play and eventually fouled out with 2:28 left.

The halftime deficit of 42-32 (10 points) was the largest of the season for the Broncos.

The loss gives Boise State a 4-2 all-time record in MW/MV Challenge games. The Broncos defeated Indiana State (2011), Creighton (2012), Bradley (2015) and Loyola Chicago (2017), but lost to Evansville (2016) and Drake (2018).

Boise State will now quickly regroup and prepare for another road game at Grand Canyon (4-3), Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. MT.
