Five Idaho teams Advance to Far West Regional Soccer Quarter Finals

It’s a day of rest for teams competing in the far West Soccer Regional s in Boise. Three days of round robin play have eliminated much of the original field of 250 teams and Friday begins the knockout rounds.

The quarter finals are Friday, then semifinals Saturday and the championship games Sunday.

Four Idaho girl’s teams have advanced to the quarter finals but just one boys’ team from the Gem state advanced to the knockout round.

The one Idaho boys’ team is the 19U Boise Cutthroats Academy who will play a Southern Cal team Friday at noon on field 20.

In girls play the Boise Thorns Elite advanced a record four teams into the quarter finals.  The Thorns Elite 15U, 16U, 18U and 19U teams all made it out of the round robin action.

15U Boise Thorns Elite vs Hawaii Field 1 at 2pm MDT

16U Boise Thorns Elite vs Santa Clara Field 3 at 8am MDT

18U Boise Thorns Elite vs. Oregon Field 17 at 10am MDT

19U Boise Thorns Elite vs Cal-South Field 19 at 10am MDT

All teams are competing for a spot at the National Tournament in July in Kansas.
