The Florida Gators won their first ever NCAA Baseball title Tuesday in Omaha beating LSU 6-1 to sweep the best of three championship series 2-0.

The Gators finished their dream season 52-19 and celebrated by rushing the mound.

Maybe the bigger story was the performance of Dr. Jerry Poche'. He's is the father of LSU star pitcher Jared Poche' and quite possibly the MVP of the tournament.

Dr. Poche' attended to four fans during the tournament, the most dramatic coming Monday night during championship play. Earlier in the tournament Dr. Poche' was called on to treat a 6 year old who was struck with a ball, a fan who collapsed from dehydration and another fan who got a bug stuck in his ear.

Monday was different. An 87 year old man collapsed from a heart attack and Dr. Poche' said someone rushed up to him and said we need you again.

Dr. Poche' and another LSU dad Jimmy Roy, a firefighter, worked on the man until paramedics arrived to take over.
