Just a few weeks ago Boise States streak of producing a thousand yard rusher each of the last 10 years was very much in jeopardy of not advancing to 11 straight seasons.

Enter true freshman George Holani who all of a sudden has 870 net yards rushing and needs 130 yards with three games remaining to extend the Bronco running legacy.

Holani rushed for 178 yards in Boise States 56-21 win over Utah State and played sparingly in the second half. He averages 79 yards per game meaning he might not need a bowl game to crack the 1,000 yard rushing mark.

Holani started the season backing up Robert Mahone but when Mahone was slowed by injury, Holani turned up the volume..He is averaging 5.9 yards per carry and has become a huge weapon for the Boise State offense.

Holani will get his first chance to visit with the Boise media on Tuesday when his is scheduled for interviews.

While the buzz surrounding BSU is all about the Mountain West championship game December 7th on the Blue, the Broncos are faced with a quick turnaround this week having to play at Colorado State Friday afternoon.

The game with Colorado State doesn't affect the Broncos in regards to their Division Title but is a must win if Boise State is to remain in contention for a New Years six bowl.
