Fittingly there was a fireworks show planned for after last nights Boise-Hillsboro NW League baseball game. The fireworks were actually ignited moments before when Trey Jacobs hit a walk off RBI double in the 10th inning last night as the Boise Hawks beat Hillsboro 4-3 to open a six game home stand that could end the season on Monday September 3rd.

I say could because with the win last night the Hawks are now just three games behind Eugene for a playoff spot with five games to play.

As if the NW League brass actually set it up, Boise and Eugene close out the regular season with a head to head three game series at Memorial stadium Saturday-Monday.

So while the Hawks haven't really lit it up the second part of the season they now have a reason to say there's a chance!

The Hawks and Hops play tonight and tomorrow before Eugene rolls into town Saturday.
