Dallas Cowboy fans never seemed to accept Kellen Moore as a backup quarterback, then they were surprised to see him named the Cowboys quarterback coach and Dallas social media definitely doesn't believe Moore should be named the Cowboys offensive co-coordinator to replace Scott Linehan who was released last week.

It seems that Cowboy fans have had a hard time accepting the fact the former Boise State standout is much more than just a great college quarterback he is a genius when it comes to football.

In some ways I can understand the fans apprehension because the first time former Boise State coach Chris Petersen introduced Moore as a freshman and the Broncos starting quarterback my first reaction was...why would he ever leave the debate team.

Kellen Moore's youthful almost nerdy look as a freshman certainly belied his ability to simply win football games, 50 wins in all during his career at Boise State an all time college record. Moore could have won all 53 games in which he started for Boise State had it not been for missed field goals.

Still, Moore has been a hard sell to Dallas fans but now he has become one of the leading candidates to replace Linehan at offensive coordinator.

Ian Rapoport reporting that if Moore is promoted, the team is "likely to hire" yet another former Cowboys quarterback, Jon Kitna, to fill that role. Kitna had been serving as OC for the San Diego Fleet of the new Alliance of American Football, which begins play in February.

The knock on Moore is he was mentored by Linehan so it would be best to get someone with new ideas. I'd be surprised if Moore doesn't already have a few new great ideas already on his coaching wrist band that might just make Dallas Kellen fans just as like Kellen wooed the Boise State faithful.
