The Idaho Vandals lost a tough game at Troy 24-21 Thursday night on national television but along the way Idaho quarterback Matt Linehan moved closer to Vandal history.

Linehan completed 23-of-34 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns and moved up to second on Idaho’s all-time passing yards list. He now has 10,772 yards, just 52 shy of Doug Nussmeier’s all-time record.

It was also Linehan's 44th consecutive start at quarterback for Idaho! Down 24-14 late in the fourth quarter Linehan engineered an 81 yards scoring drive to cut the Trojan lead to 24-21 with 23 seconds to play.

Idaho's onside kick attempt failed and Troy took a knee. The Vandals are idle this coming week and will be back in the Kibbie Dome November 18th to host Coastal-Carolina.
