Saturday's home opener will begin with an unveiling of a statue of a legendary coach.

Lyle Smith is the school's all-time wins leader. He coached at Boise State Junior College from 1947-1950, then again from 1952-1967. But missed the entire 1951 season to serve in the military.

According to KTVB, unveiling will happen just before the game on Saturday and be located near near the Allen Noble Hall of Fame.
