When former Boise State lineman Matt Paradis of Council, Idaho broke his leg halfway through the Denver Broncos season last year, Denver GM John Elway voiced big concerns about Paradis ever returning.

Paradis in fact ended up traded to the Carolina Panthers where this week he told local media "I think we are ahead of schedule."

The leg is coming along so well the word in Charlotte  is Paradis will be cleared for training camp and is being penciled in as the Panthers starting center.

That's a quantum leap from Elway's comments to the current optimism in the Panther camp.

The 6-3 Paradis is now 29 years old and was a 6th round draft pick by Denver in 2014.
