The last time the Boise State basketball team wore their all orange uniforms was 2016 and they lost to Colorado State. Since then the orange uniforms have been packed away, until Tuesday night in Fresno! After losing in overtime to Wyoming last Saturday Boise State basketball coach Leon Rice felt his team needed a lift before their game with Fresno State on Tuesday. He asked the team to name a "power" color and then like superman, donned an orange jersey claiming this was the power color they needed. The team didn't realized the all-orange look was even being considered until game time Tuesday and they responded with enough power to beat Fresno State 70-64 to improve to 4-1 in Mountain West play and 14-3 overall. It was definitely the spark the Broncos needed to win a critical road game in conference play. Up by 10 at halftime BSU saw Fresno State make a late run and it was 66-64 Broncos with just under a minute to play. Boise State made four free throws down the stretch to win by six. Chandler Hutchison had his 8th double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Hutch wasn't especially hot from the field but torched the charity stripe 15 of 18 (83%) a career high percentage. In addition, Hutchison became just the 11th Boise State player to win a conference road game at every league venue during his career. The last was John Coker from 1992-95. Boise State returns home to host San Diego State Saturday at 8 p.m. a game televised on ESPNU.
