The game was an epic win for the Broncos.  Watch how Coach Pete said goodbye to many of the players he recruited to Boise State.  Friday Night’s Game was a game decided by a missed field goal.  It was also a game that was won by the Broncos in the first half and the Huskies in the second.  Fortunately for the Blue, they had enough points to weather an attack that featured a punt return for a touchdown, a blocked punt and a last second field goal that missed.

After the game, Chris Petersen showed what a class act he is; stood around to congratulate many of the players that he recruited in beating his team.  You could tell that Pete still loves the Treasure Valley in his post game news conference.  It could not be easy for the coach to talk about how his old team beat his new one.  It’s not a game for Pete.  He needs to win in Washington to keep his job.

It would have been easier and most folks expected the Huskies to bail on their trip to Boise.  Not Pete, who wanted to give back to the program that gave him so much.  It was refreshing to hear so many current and former Broncos talk about how Pete worked at making them better men.  That’s a philosophy that’s a winner despite the final score.
