Tyler O'Donnell scored 19 and Hunter Ranstrom added 12 points as Rocky Mountain beat Mountain View 51-41 to claim the 5A District III basketball title Friday at Rocky Mountain High school.

The game was tied 18-18 with two minutes to play in the second period when the Grizzlies went on a 7-0 run to take a 25-18 halftime lead. That run proved to be the difference in the game.

From there Rocky Mountain built a 16 point margin before winning by 10. The Grizzlies head to the state tournament next week in Nampa at 21-3 and will face Hillcrest in the opening game at 1:15 p.m. Thursday March 1st in the Ford Idaho Center.

Mountain View led by Jalen Galloway's 16 points will open the state tournament against the winner of tonight's play in game at Grangeville High between Boise and Lake City.

The Mavericks are 15-8 heading into state tournament play.
