The Idaho Steelheads now have the longest running playoff streak in all of professional hockey. The Steelies are 20 for 20! Twenty playoff berths in 20 season as a Boise hockey franchise.

The Steelheads wrapped up their latest playoff spot with a 2-1 win over division leading Colorado. The two teams play again Friday and Saturday before Idaho completes the regular season next week with three games in Alaska.

The playoffs are set to start April 12th and while Idaho looks locked into a #3 seed they could move up a spot so right now it's unsure if they'll meet Allen or Colorado in the first round of the Kelly Cup playoffs.

As for the 20 consecutive playoff berths the Steelheads now own the longest streak in pro hockey. Detroit's streak of 25 in a row ended earlier this week when they were eliminated from the playoffs.

Making the playoffs is one thing, getting to the Kelly Cup final is another. Last year the Steelheads lost to Allen in the first round and Allen went on the win the cup.

Idaho head coach Neil Graham says just getting out of the Mountain Division is tough where Colorado and Allen have two of the best records in the ECHL.
