Former Boise State running back Jay Ajayi of the Philadelphia Eagles has been hampered by a foot injury much of the pre-season but last night as the NFL opened the season with Atlanta at Philadelphia it was clear the time had come to board the Jay Train.

Ajayi became the first Philadelphia running back to rush for more than 60 yards in a game and score two touchdowns since 2016. Ajayi had 62 rushing yards and a pair of second half touchdowns as the Eagles beat the Falcons 18-12.

It wasn't a pretty game but was very satisfying for Ajayi who said when he was called on in the second half he was focused and ready to go.

Ajayi scored just one touchdown with the Eagles last year and last night he doubled his output. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson saying Ajayi just put the team on his shoulders and Eagles boarded the Jay train to victory.
