Spring football practice at Boise State is underway and it comes with a ton of unknowns as a lot of new players will get a chance to show what they can do. In all BSU will have 15 practices concluding with the spring game April 8th.

The Broncos ended the regular season losing to Baylor in the Bowl game and that has added to the importance of this spring to get back to work.

The Bronco's have several unproven holes to fill. The departure of running back Jeremy McNichols has left that position wide open plus BSU is replacing both punter Sean Wale and place kicker Tyler Rausa. The Broncos have players in the wings but they've never been tested under fire on the front line.

Having a veteran at QB like Brett Rypien is a plus but the fight for backup could be interesting between Rathen Ricedorff and Jake Constantine.

Some unknowns concerning the new young players isn't the only issue. Many veterans are nursing injuries or recovering from surgeries and will miss spring football plus the recent departure of co-offensive coordinator/line coach Scott Huff to Washington means there's a disturbance in the coaching force as well.

Head coach Bryan Harsin says a key goal to this spring camp is to build depth. Getting to a three deep rotation is how we have to get better say's Harsin.
