It's state tournament time in Idaho boys high school basketball 48 teams vying for titles in six divisions across the Treasure Valley.

5A action will be played at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa and begins with Mountain vs. Lewiston at 1:15 p.m. a game to be broadcast live on Sports radio 630 The Fan.

Rocky Mountain, one of the pre tournament favorites and the top seeded team from the District 3, plays Bonneville at 3pm. The Grizzlies are 23-1 on the year while the Bees come into the tournament 14-10.

The 6:15 p.m. game Thursday features another top rated team from it's district in the Madison Bobcats. Madison, 21-1 will face an inconsistent Centennial squad at 15-10.

The final game of the opening round features Post Falls-Boise. There's no reason to believe Rocky Mountain and Madison won't be meeting for the 5A championship Saturday night. If both advance to the final their combined record would be 48-2 a true battle of basketball heavy weights.

The 4A tournament will be played at Borah High. Preston comes into the tournament the favorite at 20-4 and will most likely collide with Bishop Kelly in the semi finals where the winner of that game will be favored in the final Saturday night 6 p.m. at the Ford Idaho Center. Middleton and Vallivue will also represent SW Idaho in 4A as the Vikings open with Idaho Falls and the Falcons play Burley.

the State 3A tournament will be at Meridian High, 2A at Capital High and 1A Div.I at Nampa High and 1A Div.II at Caldwell.
